Winning percentage is a chess vocabulary term: a number calculated by adding together the number of games won and half of the number of games drawn (i.e. ignoring the losses), then dividing that total by the total number of games that were played. Another way of calculating the winning percentage is by taking the percentage of games won by a player plus half the percentage of drawn games. Use it as vocabulary, but always ask what it changes about the position or the game situation.
