What is a unpinning in chess?

Unpinning is a tactical concept: the act of breaking a pin by interposing a second piece between the attacker and the target. This allows the piece that was formerly pinned to move. Do not stop at naming the motif; calculate the forcing line that makes it work.
What to look for on the board
- Checks, captures, and threats.
- Loose pieces and unsafe kings.
- A forcing sequence, not just a pattern name.
