What is a Perpetual Check in chess?

A drawing resource where one side can keep checking forever, and the opponent cannot escape without allowing the checks to continue.

What to look for on the board

  • The enemy king has no shelter.
  • Your queen or rook can check from safe squares.
  • The stronger side cannot force a queen trade.
