Introducing Play: Longer Online Chess Games on Chessiro
Chessiro Play lets you connect Lichess, find longer online games, and play in a quieter board experience built for thinking clearly.

Chessiro started with game review because improvement is easier when your own games become lessons. But the game itself matters too. If the playing screen is noisy, rushed, or built only for speed, it becomes harder to think clearly.
That is why we are introducing Play on Chessiro: a clean online chess experience for people who want to play real games, then learn from them afterward.
Connect Lichess and Play from Chessiro
Play is powered by Lichess. Sign in to Chessiro, connect your Lichess account, choose Play Online, and Chessiro will use Lichess to find your opponent while you play on Chessiro's board.
The connection keeps the online game real: you can choose rated or casual, use your Lichess account, and still get the Chessiro playing interface around the board.
Built for Longer Games
For now, Chessiro Play supports rapid and longer Lichess games. The available time controls start at 10+0 and include slower options like 10+5, 15+10, 20+0, 30+0, 30+20, and 60+0.
That is intentional. Chessiro is designed around improvement, and longer games give you enough time to calculate, notice threats, and make decisions you can actually review later. Bullet and fast blitz can be fun, but they often hide the thinking process we want to help you improve.
A Cleaner Playing Experience
The Play screen keeps the focus on the board: clear clocks, simple game actions, stable move feedback, and a layout that works on desktop and mobile. The goal is not to crowd the game with every possible widget. The goal is to make the next move easy to see.
Online games also include the essentials you expect: live connection status, opponent information, draw and resign actions, and a smooth transition from playing into reviewing what happened.
Play First, Review After
The best part of playing on Chessiro is what happens after the game. Once a longer game is finished, you are already in the place where the game can become training: key moments, mistakes, move explanations, and positions worth replaying.
That loop is the point: play a serious game, review the critical moments, understand the patterns, and bring one lesson into the next game.
